All About Halloween With Your Preschooler!

Trick-or-Treat! Your preschooler will be shouting that phrase countless times on October 31st. Halloween is such a fun holiday to spend with your little monster. He or she will have an absolute blast dressing up as their favorite movie character or animal. Here are a few ideas to make this the best Halloween yet!

Spooky Crafts

Halloween is not all about the candy. This holiday is also the perfect time to create fun and not-so-scary crafts with your preschooler! Try making a cute craft such as paper cup spiders with your little one. You need a few orange and black plastic cups, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, and some paint or markers. Turn the cup over and poke little holes for the pipe cleaners to go through. Use the pipe cleaners as the “legs” of the spider. Once you’ve poked the holes in the cup and placed the pipe cleaners in them, it’s time to give your spider a face! Glue the googly eyes on the cup and paint a smile or spooky face. Now your preschooler has a little spider buddy to spend Halloween with!

Pumpkin Patches

Find a local pumpkin patch that you and your little pumpkin can go to! Specifically look up kid-friendly patches that offer hayrides and a petting zoo! Your kids will have the best time ever. Most pumpkin patches have pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, so you can find a perfect small one for your child. Go home and carefully carve your selected pumpkins and put them out on display on Halloween night!

Trick-or-treating is easily the best part of a child’s Halloween. Make sure that you start trick-or-treating with your child when it’s not terribly dark outside. This is the perfect time for your child to start trick-or-treating because the streets will not be as a crowded, and you’ll also feel more comfortable as a parent. Make sure to take a look at your child’s candy before they start eating it. You want to make sure that everything is safe and edible for your goblin!

Have a fun and safe Halloween!
